وحَدَّثنا إبراهيم بن سَعِيد الجوهري قَال حَدَّثنا أَبُو أحمد قَال حَدَّثنا سُفيان عَن صالح مولى التوأمة عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لا إله إلاَّ الله فإذا قالوها منعوا مني دمائهم وأموالهم إلاَّ بحقها وحسابهم على الله اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لا إله إلاَّ الله فإذا قالوها منعوا مني دمائهم وأموالهم إلاَّ بحقها وحسابهم على الله
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Sa'id al-Jawhari narrated to us, he said: Abu Ahmad narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Salih, the freed slave of at-Taw'amah, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «I have been commanded to fight the people until they say 'There is no god but Allah.' When they say it, they protect their blood and their wealth from me except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah.»
