حَدَّثنا أحمد بن الفرج الحمصي قَال حَدَّثنا أيوب بن سُوَيْد الرملي قَال حَدَّثنا يُونُس عَن الزُّهْرِيّ قال قال أَبُو سلمة بن عَبد الرحمن وَابن الْمُسَيَّب وعبيد الله بن عَبد الله وَأبُو بكر بن عَبد الرحمن عَن أبي هُرَيرة قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم الظهر أو العصر فسلم في الركعتين فقال له ذو الشمالين ابن عَمْرو بن نضلة الخزاعي وهُو حليف لبني زهرة أقصرت أم نسيت يا رَسولَ اللهِ قال لم أنس ولن تقصر قال ذو الشمالين قد كان بعض ذلك فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم على الناس فقال أصدق ذو الشمالين قالوا نَعَمْ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فأتم الصلاة وسجد سجدتين وهُو جالس العصر فسلم في الركعتين فقال له ذو الشمالين ابن عَمْرو بن نضلة الخزاعي وهُو حليف لبني زهرة أقصرت أم نسيت يا رَسولَ اللهِ قال لم أنس ولن تقصر قال ذو الشمالين قد كان بعض ذلك فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم على الناس فقال أصدق ذو الشمالين قالوا نَعَمْ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فأتم الصلاة وسجد سجدتين وهُو جالس
English Translation
Ahmad ibn al-Faraj al-Himsi narrated to us, he said: Ayyub ibn Suwayd al-Ramli narrated to us, he said: Yunus narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, he said: Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, and Ibn al-Musayyab, and Ubayd Allah ibn Abdullah, and Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman said from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed Zuhr or Asr and gave the taslim after two rak'ahs. Dhu al-Shimalayn, the son of Amr ibn Nadlah al-Khuza'i — and he was an ally of Bani Zuhrah — said to him: "Was the prayer shortened or did you forget, O Messenger of Allah?" He stated: «I did not forget, nor was it shortened.» Dhu al-Shimalayn said: "Some of that occurred." The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) turned to the people and stated: «Is Dhu al-Shimalayn truthful?» They said: "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood and completed the prayer, and prostrated two prostrations while he was sitting.
