حَدَّثنا مُفَرَّجُ بْنُ شُجَاعِ بْنِ عُبَيد اللَّهِ الذهلي حَدَّثنا غسان بن الربيع حَدَّثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ عَنْ ثابتٍ وَحُمَيْدٍ عَن أَنَسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا أُتِيَ عُبَيد اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ بِرَأْسِ الْحُسَيْنِ جَعَلَ يَنْكُتُ بِالْقَضِيبِ حدثنايَاهُ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ كَانَ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ جَمِيلا فَقُلْتُ والله لأسوئنك إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَلْثِمُ حَيْثُ يَقَعُ قَضِيبُكَ قَالَ فَانْقَبَضَوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ حُمَيد إلاَّ يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ وهُو رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ مَشْهُورٌ لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ
English Translation
Mufarrij ibn Shuja' ibn Ubayd Allah adh-Dhuhlī narrated to us, Ghassan ibn ar-Rabi' narrated to us, Yusuf ibn Abdah narrated to us, from Thabit and Humayd, from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: When the head of al-Husayn was brought to Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, he began poking it with a rod on its lips, saying — I think he said — it was beautiful. I said: "By Allah, I will surely grieve you. I saw the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kissing where your rod is touching." He said: Then he withdrew. This hadith is not known to have been narrated from Humayd except by Yusuf ibn Abdah, and he is a man from the people of Basrah, well-known, who is acceptable.
