حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُفَرِّجٍ إِجَازَةً قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ إِجَازَةً قَالَ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ الْخَالِقِ الْبَزَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَقْرَءُوا كَمَا عَلِمْتُمْ. وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَأَعْلَى مَنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَعْمَشُ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ إِلَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us saying: Abd ar-Rahman narrated to us saying: Sufyan narrated to us from Mansur from Ibrahim from Alqamah from Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The Fire was kindled for a thousand years until it became white, then it was kindled for a thousand years until it became red, then it was kindled for a thousand years until it became black. So it is black and dark.'
