حَدَّثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ الْمُثَنَّى قَال حَدَّثنا هشام بن عَبد الملك قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بْنُ أَبَان عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَن سُلَيمان بْنِ بُرَيدة عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَاءَتِ الْغَامِدِيَّةُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَقَالَتْ أَنَّهَا زَنَتْ فَأَعْرَضَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم عَنْهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ تُرِيدُ أَنْ ترددني كما رددت ماعزا إنها حُبْلَى مِنَ الزِّنَا فَقَالَ مَتَى تَضَعِي فَذَهَبَتْ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم تَحْمِلُهُ فَقَالَتْ قَدْ وَل��دْتُ قَالَ اذْهَبِي حَتَّى تَفْطِمِيهِ فَذَهَبَتْ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ بِهِ وَفِي يَدِهِ كِسْرَةُ خُبْزٍ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ فَطَمْتُهُ فَقَالَ ائْتِنِي بِمَنْ يَكْفُلُهُ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَنَا أَكْفُلُهُ فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ وَيَقُولُونَ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ لَوْ لَمْ يَكْفُلْهُ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ثُمَّ صَلَّي عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ كَيْفَ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ كَذَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِّمَتْ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم عَنْهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ تُرِيدُ أَنْ ترددني كما رددت ماعزا إنها حُبْلَى مِنَ الزِّنَا فَقَالَ مَتَى تَضَعِي فَذَهَبَتْ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم تَحْمِلُهُ فَقَالَتْ قَدْ وَلِدْتُ قَالَ اذْهَبِي حَتَّى تَفْطِمِيهِ فَذَهَبَتْ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ بِهِ وَفِي يَدِهِ كِسْرَةُ خُبْزٍ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ فَطَمْتُهُ فَقَالَ ائْتِنِي بِمَنْ يَكْفُلُهُ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَنَا أَكْفُلُهُ فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ وَيَقُولُونَ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ لَوْ لَمْ يَكْفُلْهُ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ثُمَّ صَلَّي عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ كَيْفَ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ كَذَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِّمَتْ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Aban narrated to us from Alqama ibn Marthad from Sulayman ibn Burayda from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Ghamidi woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said she had committed adultery. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned away from her. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, do you want to turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz? I am pregnant from adultery." He said: "When will you deliver?" She went away, and when she gave birth, she brought the child to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), carrying him. She said: "I have given birth." He said: "Go until you wean him." She went, then came with him holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: "I have weaned him." He said: "Bring me someone who will take care of him." A man stood up and said: "I will take care of him." The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were amazed at the man and said: "What would it have cost him not to take care of him?" He then ordered that she be stoned. Then he prayed over her. A man said: "How can you pray over her when she is like that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "She has repented with a repentance that, if it were distributed among the people of Medina, it would suffice them," or similar words.
