حَدَّثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ الْمُثَنَّى قَال حَدَّثنا أَبُو أحمد قَال حَدَّثنا شَرِيكٌ عَن أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ لَكَ أَوَّلَ نَظْرَةٍ فَلا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَوَلا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى هَذَيْنِ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة إلاَّ أَبَا رَبِيعَةَ ولاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَى عَن أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ إلاَّ شَرِيكًا وَالحَسن بْنَ صالح اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ لَكَ أَوَّلَ نَظْرَةٍ فَلا تُتْبِعِ النَّظْرَةَ النَّظْرَةَوَلا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى هَذَيْنِ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة إلاَّ أَبَا رَبِيعَةَ ولاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَى عَن أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ إلاَّ شَرِيكًا وَالحَسن بْنَ صالح
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Abu Ahmad narrated to us, he said: Sharik narrated to us from Abu Rabi'a from Abdullah ibn Burayda from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "You have the first glance, so do not follow one glance with another." We do not know anyone who narrated these two hadiths from Abdullah ibn Burayda except Abu Rabi'a, and we do not know anyone who narrated from Abu Rabi'a except Sharik and al-Hasan ibn Salih.
