حَدَّثنا الحسين بن منصور قَال حَدَّثنا حجاج بن مُحَمد قَال حَدَّثنا شُعْبَةُ عَن عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم بِالأَبْطَحِ فَجَاءَهُ بِلالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلاةِ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْتُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ وَضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَيَمْسَحُونَ بِهِ وُجُوهَهُمْقَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ الْحَكَمُ عَن أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ وَسَلَّم بِالأَبْطَحِ فَجَاءَهُ بِلالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلاةِ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْتُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ وَضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَيَمْسَحُونَ بِهِ وُجُوهَهُمْقَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ الْحَكَمُ عَن أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was at al-Abtah when Bilal came and informed him of the prayer. He called for water for ablution and performed it, and the people began taking the leftover ablution water of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and wiping their faces with it. Shu'bah said: "Al-Hakam also narrated this to me from Abu Juhayfah."
