حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ قَالَ نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ قَالَ نَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ الْعَنْسِيِّ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ سَلْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لِيَغْفِرُ لِعَبْدِهِ مَا لَمْ يَقَعِ الْحِجَابُ قَالُوا وَمَا الْحِجَابُ قَالَ مَا لَمْ تَمُتِ النَّفْسُ وَهِيَ مُشْرَِكَةٌ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لِيَغْفِرُ لِعَبْدِهِ مَا لَمْ يَقَعِ الْحِجَابُ قَالُوا وَمَا الْحِجَابُ قَالَ مَا لَمْ تَمُتِ النَّفْسُ وَهِيَ مُشْرَِكَةٌ
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Hani' narrated to us, he said: al-Haytham ibn Jamil narrated to us, he said: Ibn Thawban narrated to us, from his father, from Makhul, from 'Umar ibn Nu'aym al-'Ansi, from Usamah ibn Salman, from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "Indeed Allah forgives His servant as long as the veil has not fallen." They asked: "What is the veil?" He said: "As long as the soul does not die while in a state of associating partners with Allah (shirk)."
