حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ قَالَ نَا أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ نَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ قُطْبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ بِقَافْ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ فَقَالَ بُسُوقُهَا طُولُهَا عَنْهُ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ بِقَافْ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ فَقَالَ بُسُوقُهَا طُولُهَا
English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Mundhir narrated to us, he said: al-Mas'udi narrated to us, from Ziyad ibn Ilaqah, from Qutbah, may Allah be well pleased with him: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, and heard him recite Surah Qaf. I heard him recite: "And tall palm trees having fruit arranged in layers" [Quran 50:10]. He said: "Their height [busuquha] means their tallness."
