حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَنْزِلُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِلَى سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَيَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ فَأُعْطِيَهُ هَلْ مِنْ مُسْتَغْفِرِ فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا سَمَّى الرَّجُلَ غَيْرَ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ
English Translation
Al-Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Amr ibn Dinar informed us from Nafi' ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im from his father (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Allah, the Blessed and Most High, descends to the lowest heaven and says: Is there anyone asking so that I may give him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that I may forgive him?' Ahmad ibn Aban also narrated it to us, he said: Sufyan informed us from Amr ibn Dinar from Nafi' ibn Jubayr from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with a similar meaning. This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from Jubayr ibn Mut'im except through this chain, and we do not know of anyone who named the man other than Hammad ibn Salamah.
