حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ الطَّائِيُّ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ أَبُو الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ لَحْمَ دَجَاجٍ فَقَالَ ادْنُ فَكُلْ فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُ الدَّجَاجَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ إِلَّا عِمْرَانُ وَلَا رَوَاهُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ إِلَّا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'bah, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said: 'The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he breaks his promise; and when he is entrusted, he betrays.'
