حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ نَامَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ حَادِيَانَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ نَامَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ حَادِيَانَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ubaidah, from Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: «How would you be if there comes upon you a time in which you will be sifted, the covenant shall become thin, people will become like this» — and he interlaced his fingers. They said: What do you command us? He said: «Take what you know [to be right], and leave what you condemn. Attend to your own affairs, and abandon the affairs of the common people.»
