English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ma'mar narrated to us, he stated: Qabisah ibn Uqbah narrated to us from ath-Thawri from al-A'mash from Umarah ibn Umayr from Abd ar-Rahman ibn Yazid from Hadrat Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him), he stated: I never saw the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) pray a prayer at other than its appointed time except that he combined the two prayers at Jam' (Muzdalifah) and prayed the Dawn prayer on that day at other than its appointed time. This hadith — we do not know anyone who narrated it from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with this wording except Hadrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the narration of Umarah from Abd ar-Rahman from Abdullah. The meaning of his statement that he prayed the Dawn at other than its appointed time is that he prayed it at a time other than the time he would pray it every day, because he would pray it every day when the dawn became bright, but he prayed it on that day when the dawn first appeared, so it was before its appointed time that he would pray it every day — not that he prayed it before its obligatory time had come.
