English Translation
Amr ibn Ali narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Asim, from Zirr, from Abdullah, who said: The two traveling companions of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) were Ali and Abu Lubabah. When it was the turn of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to walk, they would say: Ride, and we will walk. He would say: «You are not stronger than I am, and I am not less in need of reward than you.» This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from Asim from Zirr from Abdullah except by Hammad ibn Salamah.
