English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from Abdullah, from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: «Whoever swears a false oath to seize the wealth of a Muslim unjustly shall meet Allah while He is angry with him.» Al-Ash'ath ibn Qays then said: That was regarding me. There was a dispute between me and a man concerning a well, and the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: «Bring your two witnesses or his oath.» I said: He will certainly swear and not care. Then the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: «Whoever swears a false oath to seize the wealth of a Muslim shall meet Allah while He is angry with him.»
