English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated from his father from his grandfather that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) permission for Hajj and sent Uthman ibn Affan and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf with them. Uthman called out to the people that no one should approach them or look at them except from a distance, while they were in their howdahs on camels. He settled them at the head of the mountain pass, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them) camped at its base, so no one sat with them.
