أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو طَاهِرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمُحَمَّدَ آبَاذِيُّ أنبأ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ السَّعْدِيُّ أنبأ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَنَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَتَلَاحَى رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَكَانَ بَيْنَ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ لِحَاءٌ فَرُفِعَتْ وَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ وَالسَّابِعَةِ وَالتَّاسِعَةِ
English Translation
'Ubadah ibn al-Samit reported: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us intending to inform us about the Night of al-Qadr, but two Muslim men were quarreling. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: I came out to you intending to inform you about the Night of al-Qadr, but so-and-so and so-and-so were quarreling, so it was taken away. Perhaps that is better. So seek it in the last ten nights — on the fifth, the seventh, and the ninth.'
