English Translation
Umar ibn al-Khattab said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in a dream, and he would not look at me. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is wrong with me?" He turned to me and said: "Are you not the one who kissed while fasting?" So by the One in whose hand is my soul, I will never kiss while fasting for as long as I live.' Umar ibn Hamzah is the sole narrator. If authentic, Umar ibn al-Khattab was a strong man for whom it was feared that kissing would arouse his desire. And Allah knows best.
