أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا رَوْحٌ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ كَانَ يَأْتِي أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الضُّحَى فَيَقُولُ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ غَدَاءٍ؟ فَإِنْ قَالُوا لَا صَامَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ وَقَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik narrated that Abu Talha used to come to his family in the forenoon and say: 'Do you have any lunch?' If they said 'No,' he would fast that day, saying: 'I am fasting.'
