أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ قُرْقُوبٍ التَّمَّارُ بِهَمَذَانَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنِي شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَوْفَلُ بْنُ مُسَاحِقٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُؤْذُوا مُسْلِمًا بِشَتْمِ كَافِرٍ
English Translation
Umm 'Atiyyah narrated: 'We were forbidden from mourning for more than three days for a deceased person, except for a husband — four months and ten days. During that time we would not use kohl, perfume, or dyed garments, except a garment dyed with 'asb (a type of Yemeni fabric).'
