أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ أنبأ جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺعَلَى ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ فَأُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ عُرْيٍ قَالَ فَعَقَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَرَكِبَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَتَوَقَّصُ بِهِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَّبِعُهُ نَسْعَى خَلْفَهُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺقَالَ كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ مُدَلًّى لِابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah narrated: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed over Ibn al-Dahdah. A bare horse was brought, and a man held it steady. The Prophet rode it and it pranced with him while we followed behind him. A man from the group said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "How many a cluster of dates hangs (in Paradise) for Ibn al-Dahdah!"'
