أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَهِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ ضَبَّةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَئِمَّةٌ تَعْرِفُونَ مِنْهُمْ وَتُنْكِرُونَ فَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ قَالَ هِشَامٌ بِقَلْبِهِ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ فَقَدْ سَلِمَ لَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوَلَا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ لَا مَا صَلَّوْا
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us... from al-Hasan, from Dabbah ibn Mihsan, from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'There will be leaders over you whom you will recognize [their good] and disapprove [their evil]. Whoever disapproves' - Sulayman said Hisham added: 'with his heart, he is absolved. And whoever detests [it], he is safe. But whoever is pleased and follows [them]...' It was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall we not fight them?' He said: 'No, as long as they pray.'
