English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr narrated to us... from Dhakwan Abu Salih who said: Two Eids coincided during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) - a Friday and an Eid day. He prayed, then stood and addressed the people saying: 'You have attained remembrance and goodness, and we are going to offer the Friday prayer. Whoever wishes to sit (and not attend Friday prayer) may sit, and whoever wishes to pray the Friday prayer may do so.'
