وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ جَمِيلٍ ثنا ابْنُ مَنِيعٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُيَسَّرٍ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ أَنْ تَفْتَحَ عَلَى الْإِمَامِ إِذَا اسْتَطْعَمَكَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا اسْتِطْعَامُ الْإِمَامِ؟ قَالَ إِذَا سَكَتَ
English Translation
Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Faqih informed us... from Ibn Jami'l... from Ibn Mani'... from Muhammad ibn Muyassar... from Isra'il, from 'Abd al-A'la, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman who said: ''Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is from the Sunnah to correct the imam when he seeks help from you.' I said to Abu 'Abd al-Rahman: 'What is the imam seeking help?' He said: 'When he becomes silent.'
