أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَعَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ وَعَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ صَاحِبِ الزِّيَادِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ خَطَبَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي رَدْغٍ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ حِيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُنَادِيَ الصَّلَاةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَقَالَ كَأَنَّكُمْ أَنْكَرْتُمْ هَذَا قَدْ فَعَلَ هَذَا مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي وَإِنَّهَا عَزْمَةٌ
English Translation
Ali ibn Ahmad ibn 'Abdan informed us... from Musallem... from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Ayyub, 'Asim al-Ahwal, and 'Abd al-Hamid... from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: 'I have not seen anyone leading the Friday prayer at the time of Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman except at the zawal (sun's decline from the meridian).'
