أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ مَطَرٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا أَبِي ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ رَأَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ رَجُلًا قَدْ عَقَلَ رَاحِلَتَهُ قَالَ مَا يَحْبِسُكَ؟ قَالَ الْجُمُعَةُ قَالَ إِنَّ الْجُمُعَةَ لَا تَحْبِسُ مُسَافِرًا فَاذْهَبْ
English Translation
Qays said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man who had hobbled his riding camel. He asked: What keeps you here? The man said: The Friday prayer. Umar said: Indeed, the Friday prayer does not hold back a traveler. Go on your way.'
