أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْعَلَوِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو حَامِدِ بْنُ الشَّرْقِيِّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَبُدَيْلُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ ضَرَبَ فَخِذِي وَقَالَ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي قَوْمٍ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا؟ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ اخْرُجْ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I considered ordering firewood to be gathered, then ordering the prayer to be called, then ordering a man to lead the people in prayer, then going to men [who did not attend the prayer] and burning their houses down upon them. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if one of them knew that he would find a fat bone or two good sheep hooves, he would attend the Isha prayer.'
