أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ الْبَزَّارُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَحَمْزَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ وَحَمْزَةَ ابْنَيِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ يُخْبِرُ أَنَّهُ سَارَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَلَمَّا دَنَا الْفَجْرُ عَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَعَدَلْتُ مَعَهُ فَأَنَاخَ فَتَبَرَّزَ وَمَعِي إِدَاوَةٌ فِيهَا مَاءٌ فَلَمَّا جَاءَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَنِي فَسَكَبْتُ عَلَى يَدِهِ مِنَ الْإِدَاوَةِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَ كُمَّا جُبَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ فِي جُبَّتِهِ فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَتَوَضَّأَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَقْبَلَ مَعَهُ الْمُغِيرَةُ فَوَجَدَ النَّاسَ قَدْ أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَقَدَّمُوا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّي لَهُمْ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ رَكْعَةً مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَفَّ مَعَ النَّاسِ وَرَاءَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُتِمُّ صَلَاتَهُ فَفَزِعَ النَّاسُ لِذَلِكَ وَأَكْثَرُوا التَّسْبِيحَ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ لِلنَّاسِ قَدْ أَصَبْتُمْ أَوْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ كَذَا قَالَا فِي إِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ وَحَمْزَةَ
English Translation
Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah narrated that he traveled with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) during the expedition of Tabuk. Near dawn, the Messenger of Allah went aside, and al-Mughirah went with him. He dismounted and relieved himself, and al-Mughirah had a water vessel. When the Messenger of Allah came to him, he ordered him to pour water on his hands three times. Then the Messenger of Allah washed his face and tried to roll up his sleeves, but his garment was too tight. So he put his hands inside his garment and washed them up to the elbows from underneath. Then he wiped over his head and wiped over his leather socks. Then the Messenger of Allah returned, and al-Mughirah returned with him. They found the people had established the prayer and put Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf forward to lead them. Abd al-Rahman had prayed one rak'ah of the Fajr prayer before the Messenger of Allah arrived. The Messenger of Allah came and stood in the row with the people behind Abd al-Rahman for the second rak'ah. When Abd al-Rahman said the salam, the Messenger of Allah stood to complete his prayer. The people were alarmed by this and said SubhanAllah excessively. When the Messenger of Allah finished his prayer, he said to the people: 'You did well,' or 'You did right.'
