أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحَارِثِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنِي بُرَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ النَّاسِ أَجْرًا فِي الصَّلَاةِ أَبْعَدُهُمْ إِلَيْهَا مَمْشًى فَأَبْعَدُهُمْ وَالَّذِي يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا مَعَ الْإِمَامِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا مِنَ الَّذِي يُصَلِّيهَا ثُمَّ يَنَامُ
English Translation
Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah narrated the description of the prayer of fear: "The imam prays one rak'ah with one group while the other guards. Then they switch — the guards come forward and the first group goes to guard. The imam prays a second rak'ah with them, then sits and each group completes their prayer on their own."
