أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ الْخَوْلَانِيَّ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ عِنْدَ قَوْلِ النَّاسِ حِينَ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَكْثَرْتُمْ وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا قَالَ بُكَيْرٌ حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَبْتَغِي بِهِ وَجْهَ اللهِ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عِيسَى
English Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fell from a horse and his right side was scraped. We visited him to inquire about his health. The time for prayer came, and he led us in prayer sitting, and we prayed behind him sitting. When he finished, he said: 'The imam is appointed to be followed. When he says takbir, say takbir. When he prostrates, prostrate. When he rises, rise. And when he says: Allah hears the one who praises Him, say: Our Lord, to You is all praise. And when he prays sitting, pray sitting, all of you.' Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated it.
