English Translation
Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah al-Mahri said: Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani led us in prayer and he stood up when he should have sat. The people said 'SubhanAllah, SubhanAllah,' but he did not sit and continued standing. When he was at the end of his prayer, he prostrated two prostrations of forgetfulness while sitting. When he gave the salam, he said: 'I heard you just now saying SubhanAllah so that I would sit, but the Sunnah is what I did.' We have narrated that from a group of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and what we have mentioned is sufficient. And success is from Allah.
