أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ أُذَاكِرُ عُمَرَ شَيْئًا مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَأَتَى عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ ؓ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قُلْنَا بَلَى قَالَ أَشْهَدُ شَهَادَةَ اللهِ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنَ النُّقْصَانِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي شَكٍّ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ وَكَذَلِكَ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas said: I was discussing something about prayer with Umar when Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) came upon us and said: Shall I not narrate to you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. He said: I bear witness before Allah that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: If one of you has doubt about deficiency in his prayer, let him pray until he is in doubt about the addition.
