أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَكَ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ عَنْ رَفْعِهِمْ أَبْصَارَهُمْ عِنْدَ الدُّعَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi, and Abu Zakariyya ibn Abi Ishaq al-Muzakki informed us, they said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Bahr ibn Nasr narrated to us. He said: It was read to Ibn Wahb: al-Layth ibn Sa'd informed you from Ja'far ibn Rabi'ah from Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'People must stop raising their eyes to the sky during supplication in prayer, or their sight will be snatched away.'
