Ali ibn Bishran informed us, Isma'il al-Saffar informed us, al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Affan narrated to us, Ibn Numayr narrated to us from Ubaydullah from Nafi' from Ibn Umar that he used to pray facing his camel while it was placed crosswise between him and the qiblah. And his saying 'What if...' was from Ubaydullah's words to Nafi'. Abu Amr al-Adib informed us, Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili informed us, Yusuf ibn Ya'qub al-Hammadi mentioned the hadith similarly to that of al-Muqri. The Shaykh Abu Bakr said: It seems that the saying 'What if...' was from Ubaydullah's words to Nafi', not from Nafi's words to Abdullah. Ibrahim ibn Musa and al-Qasim ibn Zakariyya informed me, they said: Khallad ibn Aslam narrated to us, Abidah ibn Humayd narrated to us from Ubaydullah from Nafi' from Ibn Umar who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray and would place the camel crosswise between him and the qiblah. Al-Qasim said in his hadith: Ubaydullah said: I asked Nafi': When the camels go away, what would he do? He said: He would place the back part of the saddle crosswise between him and the qiblah.
