English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah narrated: "When we prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), we would say 'Al-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatu Allah' gesturing with our hands to both sides. The Prophet said: 'What is the matter with those who gesture with their hands as if they are the tails of restive horses? It suffices one of you to place his hand on his thigh and say salam to his brother on his right and left.'"
