أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْفَارِسِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ خُرَّزَاذَ ثنا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ثنا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَمَّ النَّاسَ قَرَأَ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Translation
Anas narrated: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr and Umar used to begin the prayer with 'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb al-Alamin.'" Muslim recorded it in his Sahih. This was interpreted to mean they did not recite Bismillah aloud.
