أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُقْرِئُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ السُّلَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ثنا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ أَنَّ قِرَاءَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَتْ {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ} [الفاتحة 2] يَعْنِي كَلِمَةً كَلِمَةً وَكَذَلِكَ
English Translation
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When the adhan is called, the devil retreats passing gas so that he does not hear the call. When the adhan is finished, he returns. When the iqamah is called, he retreats again. When it is finished, he returns and whispers to the person."
