أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَ��َ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ؓ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَازَةِ وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلَامِ وَنَصْرِ الْمَظْلُومِ وَإِبْرَارِ الْمُقْسِمِ وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي وَنَهَانَا عَنْ خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ وَعَنِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ وَالْمَيَاثِرِ وَالْقَسِّيِّ
English Translation
Al-Bara ibn Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us with seven things and prohibited us from seven: He commanded us to visit the sick, follow funeral processions, say 'yarhamuk Allah' to one who sneezes, spread the greeting of peace, help the oppressed, honor one who swears an oath, and accept invitations. He prohibited us from gold rings, drinking from silver vessels, silk, brocade, satin, embroidered silk cushions, and garments mixed with silk.
