أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبُوشَنْجِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ مَالِكٌ مَا تَفْسِيرُ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ أَمَّا الْجَلَبُ فَأَنْ يَتَخَلَّفَ الْفَرَسُ فِي السِّبَاقِ فَيُحَرَّكَ وَرَاءَهُ الشَّيْءُ يُسْتَحَثُّ بِهِ فيَسَبِقُ فَهَذَا الْجَلَبُ وَأَمَّا الْجَنَبُ فَإِنَّهُ يُجْنَبُ مَعَ الْفَرَسِ الَّذِي يُسَابِقُ بِهِ فَرَسٌ آخَرُ حَتَّى إِذَا دَنَى تَحَوَّلَ رَاكِبُهُ عَلَى الْفَرَسِ الْمَجْنُوبِ فَأَخَذَ السَّبْقَ
English Translation
Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Close the doors, tie the water skins, turn over the vessels or cover them, and extinguish the lamps, for Satan does not open a closed door, untie a water skin, or uncover a vessel. A mouse may set fire to people's homes.'
