English Translation
Ali al-Bariqi asked Ibn Umar about cheese, and he said: Eat what Muslims and the People of the Book have made. We also narrated similar statements from Abdullah ibn Abbas and Anas ibn Malik. This is because young animals are slaughtered and the rennet used to curdle cheese is taken from them. If they are from the slaughter of Zoroastrians and idol-worshippers, it is not permissible. Likewise, if a young animal dies and rennet is taken from it, it is not permissible.
