أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فُورَكٍ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِحَدِيدَةٍ فَحَدِيدَتُهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَجَأُ بِهَا بَطْنَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِسُمٍّ فَسُمُّهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَتَحَسَّاهُ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا وَمَنْ تَرَدَّى مِنْ جَبَلٍ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ فَهُوَ يَتَرَدَّى فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا
English Translation
Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Furak informed us: Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Asbahani reported to us: Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Dhakwan, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever kills himself with a [blade of] iron, his iron will be in his hand, stabbing his belly with it on the Day of Resurrection in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever and ever. And whoever kills himself with poison, his poison will be in his hand, sipping it in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever and ever. And whoever throws himself down from a mountain and kills himself, he will be throwing himself down in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever and ever."
