أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ الظَّفِرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْعَلَوِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَاشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ فَنُعِتَ لَهُ الْكِيُّ فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَسَكَتَ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَارْضِفُوهُ بِالرَّضْفِ
English Translation
Abu Mansur al-Zafir ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Alawi (may Allah have mercy on him) informed us, Abu Ja'far ibn Duhaym narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Hazim narrated to us, Qabisah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "A man from the Ansar fell ill and his pain became severe. Cauterization was suggested for him, so they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and asked him. He was silent three times, then said: 'If you wish [cauterize him], and if you wish, apply heated stones to him.'"
