English Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Furak informed us, Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us from Abd al-A'la, from Abu Jamilah, from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) had himself cupped and ordered me, so I gave the cupper his wages." And this is more appropriate and more consistent with what has preceded than what was narrated from Ata' al-Khurasani from Abdullah ibn Damrah from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "The earnings of a cupper are from ill-gotten gains."
