English Translation
Abu Ahmad al-Mihrajani informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Ja'far al-Muzakki informed us, Muhammad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Malik narrated to us from Nafi' that Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sacrificed once in Madinah. Nafi' said: He ordered me to buy him a studly, horned ram, then to slaughter it on the Day of Sacrifice at the prayer ground of the people. Nafi' said: I did so. Then the ram was carried to Abdullah, and he shaved his head when the ram was slaughtered. He was ill and had not attended the Eid with the people. Nafi' said: Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "Shaving the head is not obligatory for whoever sacrifices, if he has not performed Hajj." But Abdullah ibn Umar had done it.
