أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أنبأ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ثنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ؓ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ مِحْسَانٌ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُحْسِنْ ذِبْحَتَهُ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu al-Fadl ibn Ibrahim informed us, Ahmad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Ibrahim informed us, Abd al-Wahhab ibn Abd al-Majid informed us, Khalid al-Hadhdha' narrated to us from Abu Qilabah from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani from Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who said: "Indeed, Allah is Beneficent and has prescribed excellence in everything. When you kill, kill well, and when one of you slaughters, let him do it well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and give comfort to his animal."
