أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ؓ قَالَ ضَحَّى خَالِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تِلْكَ شَاةُ لَحْمٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عِنْدِي جَذَعَةٌ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ فَقَالَ ضَحِّ بِهَا وَلَا تَصْلُحُ لِغَيْرِكَ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub informed us, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Salam narrated to me, Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Khalid ibn Abdullah informed us from Mutarrif from Amir from al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: My maternal uncle Abu Burdah sacrificed before the prayer, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is a sheep of meat." He said: O Messenger of Allah, I have a young goat from the goats. He said: "Sacrifice it, but it will not be valid for anyone other than you."
