أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ السُّكَّرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ التَّرْقُفِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا سَعِيدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَقِيلٍ زُهْرَةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَهَبَتْ بِهِ أُمُّهُ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ حُمَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُ��لُ اللهِ ﷺ هُوَ صَغِيرٌ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَدَعَا لَهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ يُضَحِّي بِالشَّاةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ عَنْ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِهِ
English Translation
Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Yahya ibn Abd al-Jabbar al-Sukkari in Baghdad informed us, Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Saffar informed us, Abbas ibn Abdullah al-Tarqufi narrated to us, Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sa'id - that is Ibn Abi Ayyub - narrated to us, Abu Aqil Zuhrah ibn Ma'bad narrated to me from his grandfather Abdullah ibn Hisham, who had met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). His mother Zaynab bint Humayd took him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, accept his pledge of allegiance." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is young." He then stroked his head and prayed for him. He said: And he used to sacrifice a single sheep on behalf of all his family members.
