أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكَ
English Translation
Abu 'Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Zakariyya ibn Abi Ishaq said: Abu al-'Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Bahr ibn Nasr narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Malik informed me from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When one of the Jews greets you, he only says: 'Al-sam (death) be upon you.' So say: 'And upon you.'"
