English Translation
And Abu Raja' al-Hanafi narrated to us, saying: Hudhayfah wrote to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that such-and-such from the Muhajirun had been killed, and among those who were unknown there were even more. When he read the letter, he raised his voice and wept, and said: "Rather, Allah knows them" — three times. Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih in abbreviated form from al-Fadl ibn Ya'qub from Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Raqqi. In it there is evidence for taking the jizyah from the Zoroastrians, and Allah knows best, for Chosroes and his people were Zoroastrians.
