وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ؓ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ نَتَلَقَّى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ مَقْدَمَهُ مِنْ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أَذْكُرُ مَقْدَمَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَمَّا قَدِمَ مِنْ تَبُوكَ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us > Ahmad ibn Ja'far al-Qati'i > Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal > Ali ibn Abdullah > Sufyan > al-Zuhri > al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I went out with the children to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) at Thaniyyat al-Wada' upon his return from the Battle of Tabuk. And Sufyan said on another occasion: I remember the arrival of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he came from Tabuk.
